I don't have the time/money to do that.

I hear people saying this a lot and it's made me wonder. Why? When people talk about blogging, others say "I don't have time for that." When people talk about scrapbooking others say, "I don't have time or money for that." Why must we give an excuse for why we don't do something? Then it hit me, I notice others saying this because I say it A LOT too. (sidenote- God usually does this to me- makes me notice something in others only to point it out in me as a behavior I myself own.)

So, I say no more excuses. Why don't I (blank)? Because I chose not to. I am not in a contest for who can do the most things. Sounds silly when I type it out, but it happens people, you know it does. I can celebrate you doing (blank) and enjoying (blank) and not feel bad that I don't (blank). I can't do everything and neither can you. So, first I'm going to say "Good for you, tell me more about (blank) and what it means to you." If necessary I will say, "I chose not to do (blank)." I'm going to be OK with not doing it all. And I'm going to celebrate the things I have chosen to do. I've got some really cool stuff on my plate :)

That's such a good point. Why DO we make excuses like that? How strange...
