I started with great-grandparents on both sides, then grandparents, then parents.
I recorded each person's name, date of birth, date of death and wedding date. Some of the info was a little hard to track down. If you want to do this for your kids I would recommend getting the information recorded somewhere NOW because it might be too hard to locate after some loved ones pass on.
This is what the note I wrote says:
Amelia Marie Long,
This is your heritage page. It amazes us to look at this page and see our heritage and your heritage: Christian families, strong marriages, parents who love their children, and children who love their parents. We pray this heritage blesses and encourages you.
Love,
Dad and Mom
PS: I never would make progress on my scrapbooking if it weren't for my monthly scrapbook dates with my neighbor. She's super creative and has a great scrapbook room for us to get inspired in. I only make one layout at a time before I get sleepy, but it's better than the no layouts at a time I was making before- HA. Thanks Sari for getting me moving!

Such a great idea! Did you end up color copying the photos so that you could make two scrapbooks?
That's great, Erin! I might have to see if you have some pics I don't. I want to make a "military" page for the boys with all of their male ancestors in their different branch millitary uniforms.
