The Jesus Process and Twinkle Twinkle

2 sweet stories of Amelia I just had to share.

The Jesus Process
The other day in the car:
Amelia: When I am at The Fort (our church's children program for her age group) I try to keep my eyes open and sing but sometimes I just can't because of the Jesus Process.

Me: What is the Jesus Process?

A: You know when you're singing and you just can't help but close your eyes, put your hand over your heart and raise your hand.

Me: Oh, OK. Where have you seen the Jesus Process before?

A: When daddy sings at church and sometimes I just can't help but sing that way too.

I'm guessing she's referring to the Good Friday service we all went to this year that was 1 hour of amazing worship songs sung to God. It's a great reminder to me of how important it is for Amelia to see how we live our lives. Especially how her Daddy does because he's her hero!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
We went camping last weekend and we (umm I) were VERY worried about how Emery would sleep. The first time we attempted to lay her down she screamed her head off. So, in kindness to our camping neighbors, we picked her back up and took her out with us to sit and enjoy the night for awhile. After about 10 minutes we attempted to lay her down again. Side note: Amelia was already in her sleeping bag trying to fall asleep.

This time Emery did better, but still cried quite a bit and quite loudly. We decided to give her 5 minutes to sooth (aka cry) herself to sleep and see if that would work. Well about 45 seconds into crying she stopped. Then I noticed Amelia must be out of her sleeping bag because I could see her glow stick and some movement. I was instantly frustrated because I did not want her giving the glow stick to Emery or giving it to her and then taking it back. Ian, in his wisdom, convinced me to leave it be.

Emery was quiet from that point on. I asked Amelia the next morning what she did when Emery was crying. She said, "I sang her Twinkle Twinkle Little Star so she could fall asleep." Now that's a good big sister :)

Man I love these girls!

Both of these stories brought tears to my eyes! Boys are so different...Ryan's sweet with Kaylin, but I could totally see Kaylin doing this sort of thing for her baby brother before Ryan ever would.

Mother's instint, I suppose!

oh Erin, I had goosebumps multiple times while I read this post! The Jesus Process is a great way to describe that! :) And it is so amazing and awesome that our kids are watching us, especially their daddies, to see how we live our lives, and want to model that as well. I love it. Absolutely love it. You and Ian are wonderful parents, and your girls are going to grow up and be amazing leaders, and Christ followers, confident in who they are, and just awesome women of God. I just know it!
