Jesselyn's Baptism

YEAH!!!!!!!! Last Sunday my niece Jesselyn was baptized. We believe in choosing baptism, as modeled in the Bible, not infant baptism that's why she had not been baptized yet. Jess went to church camp this summer and then took a class that explained what it means to be a Christian and follow Jesus Christ. She prayed a prayer to ask Jesus into her heart and to tell Him that she believes He saved her from her sins and is the reason she will go to heaven. Lisa and Kevin baptized her and lots of friends and family were there. She was baptized with 2 of her friends and we all had a HUGE pool party to celebrate. It was ridiculously hot (105+), but we did not care! It was a great day and Jess could NOT stop smiling. The children's pastor read this verse before the baptisms started and I love how it explains why we believe in baptism.

Romans 6:4
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Congratulations Jesselyn!

PTL! Nothing better than a child's love for Jesus!
