We recently received a benefits statement from our insurance company. It made me laugh. Here's why:
Amt we've spent (out of pocket) on health care items in 2009: $4,000+
Amt that "qualifies" toward family deductible of $6,000: $1,650
Amt paid to have health insurance: $5,980
Amt of benefit paid by HealthNet: $214
I'm thinking I should go into the insurance business!
On the bright side, we have the same insurance this year so at least we know what to expect. This past year has been torture trying to figure out their system and understand how they operate. So, as much as I was hoping to have new insurance, at least I know this one and know what to expect- not much :)

oh my gosh, I feel your pain. when we had private insurance it was a NIGHTMARE. Shoot, even having group coverage is frustrating. London turns one next week and we are STILL getting bills from her delivery.
