Amelia starts Soccer

Amelia had her first soccer game this past weekend. It was so much fun, I laughed through most of it because it was just priceless. She is on a team with her best friend Isabel (I think that's what she's most excited about). At one point they were both in hot pursuit of the ball, Amelia was almost there, when Isa feel down a few feet behind her. Amelia stopped going for the ball, turned around and helped Isa up and said, "Come on let's go get it together!" HA. My soccer coach would have killed me if I'd gone back for a friend :) I love that she thought of Isa first. Several times you could see them running around the field holding hands, but they were also serious players as well.

When asked why she's so excited about being with Isa she told me, "Because I don't want to have to play against her." I love it! She is the lucky number 13. It's make me smile because she was born in room #13. Good thing we aren't superstitious.

I like the way they set up the games. Smaller field, no goalie (which disturbed Amelia as well as her cousin Jesselyn), only four players on each team. It's really about teaching them the fundamentals- as in which way to run and what out of bounds means!

Enjoy the pics:
