I saw this idea in Family Fun and thought it looked like fun! You buy dark colored shirts and use a bleach pen (we used Clorox brand) to draw a design. Put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt to prevent transfer. Trace the design with chalk if desired. Washing was a trick as each one needed to be washed separately, but we figured it out. Go easy on the amount of bleach, the girls were squeezing a little too hard. And have lots of ventilation. I strongly dislike the smell of bleach so I had every fan going including our box fan- HA.
Jess choose to write a gymnastics message, Macie and Amelia choose letters with designs. They were all very happy with how things turned out. Amelia needed quite a bit of help with this one, but she was involved in the design and supervision! All in all it cost about $3 a shirt- pretty cool.
